If you or your pre-med / pre-health peers are looking for summer experiences that contribute to your path to medical school, we want to introduce you to Atlantis, which runs summer break pre-med shadowing programs for U.S. students. Current college students or recent grads, as well as certain high school seniors, are eligible to apply.

As you know, all pre-health paths essentially require you to have exposure to healthcare. Atlantis is a way to combine a cultural experience traveling in Europe with meaningful hospital shadowing. Alumni of this program have gone on to be admitted to more than 40 of the top 50 MD programs in the US, as well as to DO, PA, and Nursing programs. If you are in college and your college has a pre-health advisor, ask them about their views on Atlantis, since the majority are aware of this program and about 1 out of 10 have visited these programs in person.

Atlantis programs last a few weeks during the summer, bring 20 hours of hospital shadowing per week, and allow you to observe on multiple specialities. They cost about the same as other educational trips abroad.
