Leadership Initatives Internship

A 501(c)(3) nonprofit that partners with Georgetown University to give outstanding high school students internship opportunities in the areas of law, medicine, security, and business as well as a board member for HOSA National. Each summer, Leadership Initiatives holds our Advanced Medical & Public Health Internship, a first-of-its-kind program where students partner with doctors to diagnose real patients in sub-Saharan Africa using VR technology.
Global Medical Squads: Pre-Med Clinical Experience

A 5-Session Introduction to the World of International Medicine. The sessions include two virtual clinical experiences where students will be tasked with triaging patients, taking vitals, pharmacy operations, helping support diagnoses and prognoses. During these sessions, students will receive training and shadowing hours from international healthcare professionals. In addition, with an added bonus they will be coached in how to plan their future so they can get into medical school! Lastly, students will attend one final webinar to hear the stories of various professionals and find methods in how they can pursue service in healthcare and leave a lasting effect on the future.
