National Geographic Learning Academic Testing Center at ILC



HOSA members and alumni! If you have the desire to compete in more than one event at the 2019 ILC, NOW is the time. HOSA is excited to be providing a new opportunity to all student and alumni attendees at the 2019 International Leadership Conference. National Geographic Learning, a part of Cengage is partnering with HOSA-Future Health Professionals to launch the Academic Testing Center. The Academic Testing Center provides HOSA delegates the opportunity to demonstrate their basic knowledge in preparation to become future health professionals. In addition to competing in 1 event in Health Science, Health Professions, Emergency Preparedness, Leadership or Teamwork, you can now do up to 2 of the Academic Testing Center events as well! Who Can Participate Secondary Division Members, Postsecondary/Collegiate Division Members, and Alumni Members. Each member is eligible to take any two tests in the Academic Testing Center in addition to another competitive event or participation as a Voting Delegate. Testing Areas The eleven (11) basic tests provided by National Geographic Learning, a part of Cengage include: Anatomy and Physiology, Medical Math, General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Physics College, Human Heredity, Allied Health Statistics and Bioengineering. Students and alumni can choose take any two of the tests above. How to Register Delegates will pre-register for the Academic Testing Center and indicate one or two preferred choices for testing. The registration process occurs in the HOSA Conference Management System when you register for the 2019 International Leadership Conference. Delegates will receive an Academic Testing Center Schedule prior to the ILC. If space is available at testing sessions, HOSA delegates may register on-site for additional subjects in addition to the two pre- registered tests. Availability The Academic Testing Center will provide a testing environment for 250 HOSA members each session for a 60-minute period for four days for a total of 5,750 test-takers. Seating and test time will be assigned and published prior to the ILC and will not conflict with you other responsibilities. To register onsite for unfilled time slots go to the El Paso Registration Desk and you will be shown open seats on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Recognition -Top Ten HOSA members will be recognized at the Grand Awards Ceremony with 1st, 2nd and 3rd place receiving special recognition -A Certificate of Participation HOSA Advisors receive a Certificate of Excellence for HOSA members ranking in the Top Ten
